The UK’s EV market has reached significant milestones, with the registration of the two millionth battery electric vehicle (BEV) in April 2026, marking approximately 5% of the UK car parc. A month later, BEVs achieved a record monthly market share of new vehicles at 27.3%, highlighting the accelerating adoption of electric vehicles.

Responding to a growing EV market

At Comline, our Business Line team has been continuously expanding our EV and hybrid offering by closely analysing vehicle-in-operation (VIO) data. Today, our portfolio includes more than 3,700 part numbers, with new references added every month, reinforcing our commitment to supporting the independent aftermarket as the number of EVs on UK roads continues to grow.

Our EVLine brake pads are R90-approved and engineered to deliver low-noise operation alongside consistent stopping performance. An additional scorching process following curing stabilises friction characteristics at higher temperatures, helping to reduce brake noise while ensuring dependable performance throughout the service life of the pad. Our distinctive blue livery also features on the CEM115 friction material, reflecting the quality and identity associated with the Comline brand.

Why EVLine matters

While regenerative braking performs much of the deceleration in electric vehicles, conventional friction brakes remain essential. They are relied upon during emergency braking, adverse weather conditions and situations where regenerative braking is limited, such as when the battery is at a high state of charge.

Because friction brakes are used less frequently in EVs, brake pads and discs can be exposed to rust, debris and corrosion during extended periods of inactivity. This can increase the likelihood of replacement, creating a clear need for high-quality aftermarket braking solutions designed specifically for EV applications.

Expanding coverage

We currently stock 69 EVLine references, with further additions already in development. Recent launches include applications for the Fiat Ducato (2020–2023), Ford Tourneo Custom (2024 onwards), Ford Transit Custom (2024 onwards), Maxus eDeliver (2020 onwards) and Mazda MX-30 (2020 onwards).
