Our Story

Humble Beginnings
The origins of the Comline brand can be traced all the way back to March 1988 when "Comline Trade Limited" was first registered as a UK business by founder and current Comline Chairman, Divyesh M. Kamdar. He recalls:

"The name 'Comline' was derived from the term 'Commercial Lines' as the original intention was for the business to be a general wholesale, import, export business."

Open for Business
The business first began trading in 1991 from modest premises in Harrow,
United Kingdom. At this point, Comline was far from the automotive parts 
specialist it has become today, in the words of Divyesh Kamdar:

"in the early days our speciality was anything and everything".
Parts Specialists
The segway into the world of automotive parts resulted from timely introductions
to some Japanese parts suppliers by a mutual contact. The original thrust of
Comline in the automotive world was the UK import of aftermarket parts from
major Japanese brands and genuine OE parts from the Japanese vehicle

Between 1995 and 2003 the Comline business established itself as a bonefide
specialist in Japanese, and latterly, Koren vehicles parts. Given these origins
it's little surprise that Japanese & Korean marques continue to be strongly
represented within Comline's 'all makes' product offering.
Own Brands
2003 saw a major milestone for the business as Comline Trade Limited launched its first ever 'own brand' line of replacement parts - CTL. True to form, CTL was set-up to focus exclusively on parts for Japanese & Korean applications with the primary ranges of filters and brake pads leading the charge.

Following immediate success with CTL, the ETL sister brand was launched to provide a similar product portfolio for European makes and models. With the decision to pursue an 'all makes' philosophy, the foundations were firmly laid for the Comline brand as we know it today.

With the growth of Comline in export territories the brand has become increasingly multi-national
with subsidiary operations in Greece, Ireland and Spain providing local market and regional
logistical support to customers right across Europe and beyond.

From the Baltics to the Balkans and as far afield as Peru, Comline's  status as global, multi-
national aftermarket brand has never been more pronounced.
Award Winning
In recent years the upward trajectory of the Comline brand and its ongoing expansion into overseas markets has led to a series of accolades and awards. 

Most notable among these was The Queen's Award for Enterprise: International Trade 2016. This award, issued by HRH Queen Elizabeth II, is the UK's highest business accolade and was presented to Comline in recognition of outstanding success in export markets.

Here & Now
Fast-forward to the present day and Comline is an established, multi-site, multi-national parts brand supplying a customer base in over 50 countries worldwide. However, despite its growing scale and global presence the brand still stays true to its roots.

Headquartered at its 150,000ft2 premises on the outskirts of Luton, UK, the brand remains independendly owned by the Kamdar family with founder and chairman Divyesh M.Kamdar heavily involved in the business and sons Ishan and Shalin occupying Director roles within the organisation.

Comline now sits alongside two aftermarket sister brands within the wider 'Comline Group' structure, a £50 million operation and a far cry from its humble origins.
