Committed to GDPR compliance
Comline taking the necessary steps to comply with new General Data Protection Regulations
With new GDPR (General Data Protection Regulations) due to come into force on May 25th 2018, Comline Auto Parts Ltd (Comline) is taking all the necessary steps to protect its customers' data and ensure compliance with these regulations.
Replacing the existing Data Protection Act and applicable to all EU member states, GDPR has been a hot topic so far in 2018 collecting plenty of headlines and news coverage. In essence, the regulations have been designed to provide individuals with improved levels of data protection and one of the headlines is an individual's right to erasure, more simply the right to be forgotten. Whilst there are various clauses that apply to what is a lengthy and complex set of regulations the key action for most companies, Comline included, is to obtain explicit consent to hold personal information (i.e. email addresses, addresses, bank details etc.). This applies to both employees and customers alike.
In preparation for the launch of GDPR on May 25th Comline is contacting all individuals that it holds data for to obtain the required consent to retain this data. This includes emailing its customer database with a designated electronic consent form and requesting all its employees have given formal consent in-line with GDPR.
If you are a Comline customer and have not completed your consent form please contact marketing@comline.uk.com for more information.
