Comline News: Comline ranks in The Sunday Times HSBC International Track 200
Comline ranks in The Sunday Times HSBC International Track 200 league table
The distributor of European, Japanese and Korean replacement parts has been recognised as one of Britain’s fastest-growing private companies for international sales.
UK automotive aftermarket company Comline has entered The Sunday Times HSBC International Track 200 league table and has placed in 70th position.
Published this month, the annual International Track 200 league table – now in its seventh year – ranks Britain’s mid-market private companies with the fastest-growing international sales over a two-year period.
Revealed at the launch of the International Festival For Business in Liverpool, the 200 companies also included popular names from a variety of industries, such as women's sportswear retailer Sweaty Betty, health and beauty products manufacturer Neal's Yard Remedies, travel search engine Skyscanner and sandwich shop chain Pret A Manger.
The league table reflects the importance of Europe to Britain’s mid-market exporters.
More than three quarters of the companies (166) sell to continental Europe – the most popular market – followed by North America (108) and Asia (88).
Comline fits into the south-east category of UK entries, a sector where cumulative international sales have grown by an average of almost 55%-a-year over a two-year spell to a total of £1.7 billion.
Comline’s Managing Director, Divyesh Kamdar said he was delighted with this auspicious recognition. He commented:
“This fabulous achievement is down to everyone who works here, and I’m so proud of this accolade. The league table reflects the importance of Europe to Britain’s mid-market exporters, and for Comline to be associated with such successful companies is significant.”
The Sunday Times Track 200 is sponsored by HSBC and compiled by Fast Track, the Oxford-based research and networking events firm.
HSBC’s UK Head of Corporate Banking, Amanda Murphy said:
“The Sunday Times HSBC International Track 200 is a great reflection of the value of building connections overseas. The world is getting smaller and for ambitious businesses, the opportunities to source goods and services and to grow organically via international trade, digitally or on the ground, are easier than ever. I'm delighted to see so many HSBC-backed mid-sized firms making such a strong impression on the world stage.”
Comline were placed in the top-12 private companies in the south-east with the fastest-growing international sales and ranked 70th across the entire UK.
This year’s International Track 200 companies achieved, on average, overseas sales growth of 39%-a-year over two years to a total of £7.1 billion. Combined, they employ 117,000 staff, having added 27,000 employees to their respective workforces over that period.
The full league table was published as an eight-page supplement with the business section of The Sunday Times on 12 June, both in print and in the digital edition, as well as www.fasttrack.co.uk.
