Attempting to portray a sportier image than its rivals, the Altea, which is based the VW Golf Plus, remains one of the more handsome looking people-carriers on European roads.

Thanks to its punchy engines, outstanding build-quality and high equipment levels, the Altea exceeded expectations and sold almost 40,000 units across Europe within its first year of sales. However, the growing Crossover trend has led to a huge decline in MPV sales and this led SEAT to cut the model from its line-up in 2015. Nevertheless, there is still plenty of aftermarket business up for grabs on the Altea.
